Parts of Speech

The brown dog ate the food quickly and it got sick.

Subject: The dog=Who or what the sentence is about and doing the action of the verb.
Verb: Ate=action of the sentence.
Noun: Dog, Food=Person, place, thing, idea or feeling.
Adjective: Brown=Describes the noun.
Pronoun: It=In the place of a noun. Refers to a noun.
Conjunction: and=Connector. Combines similar parts of a sentence.
Adverb: Quickly=Modifies or adds information to a verb or other part of a sentence. How did the verb do something?
Article: The, a, an.
Preposition: Show position or location of something. In, on, at, etc.
Objects: Always come after the Verb: S-V-O (Subject, Verb, Object)
